Hi, I'm Paula Willig and I taught at John A. Logan from the fall of 1994 until I retired in September, 2014. I am currently teaching part-time online. I have retired from full-time teaching. I am also teaching a class for Concordia University Chicago, my alma mater.
Before teaching at John A. Logan, I worked as a freelance interpreter and taught classes at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley.
I have my Master of Science degree from Western Maryland College (Now McDaniel College) in interpreter education. I also have Comprehensive Skills Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, a Comprehensive License from the State of Missouri and a Master License from the State of Illinois.
I have developed and taught online courses since 2000. I developed an online Educational Interpreter Professional degree and certificate program, and online supplements for all of courses in the Interpreter Preparation Program. I am also administering and developing online course offerings for the Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach Program, and working as an Interpreter Training Specialist for Outreach at ISD.
I'm a member of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the National Association of the Deaf.
